Fashion Style – A Simple Guideline

It will be a exciting thing of recognizing the latest fashion style people typically wear nowadays, whether it is about the trend of jeans and also the skirt. The whole thing is interesting when it comes to the discussion about the most favorite style.

Definitely, you can’t only depend on the recent trend to find the best clothes you can wear, but paying attention to the type of your body. You don’t want to be looked like a silly person of wearing the unfit clothes with your body, right? The main point in the “dictionary” of style is finding the best fit up to date clothes.

The fashion style will become something that always associated to the fashion trend.

The Five Body Types

Further about style, each woman has their own unique shape, and all of them are divided into big five types. The first is hourglass body shape. It is wider in the chest and hips, with a narrow waistline. The tailor is mostly often recommending the trendy belts, flowing skirts and v-neck tops to flatter your bustline.

And now, what about pear type? It is a body shape that narrower on top and wider on the bottom. In the current style, this type of body shape can try plenty of lovely options.

And then, the recent fashion style brings so a lot of fortunate for people with the petite figure, since there are many pieces in the newest style designed just for her. And the final shape that has the most widely opened options of the current style is a long, lean shape.

How to Have Your Own Unique Fashion Style

Are you ready to break out and find your very own fashion style? Everyone has his or her own unique fashion sense. Don’t just blindly follow the trends set by someone else. Here are some tips for you to help you search for the fashion that speaks of who you are.

First and foremost, to be able to make a fashion statement about yourself, it is important that you figure out your personality. Are you the fun, quirky type, the serious “brainy” type, or the athletic type? There are many different types of personalities, and discovering who you are will most definitely pave the way to discovering your own fashion style.

Go through your closet and separate the clothes you want to keep and those that you don’t. Check out the clothes you want to keep because they may help you in choosing the style that you want to have. At this point, you can either create a style that is based on your current clothes, or create one that is entirely new.

Be creative! Do not just think of fashion based on the norm or the current trend. Remember you’re making a fashion statement about yourself, so be brave and try different match-ups even if your friends may think it’s strange. Remember that not everything you try would be perfect. But at least you can learn from those errors and then improve because of them.

Choose colors and patterns that you think represent who you are. Having a signature color or pattern might make things easier for you when choosing your style or fashion. Use different accessories to compliment the clothes you wear. A simple accessory such as a bandana can define your style if you use it the right way.

It’s also not a bad idea to study different styles, not to copy them but to get different ideas from different stylists. Watch the fashion of celebrities, read fashion magazines and walk around the mall and check out the latest styles on sale. This will help you choose which styles you like and those you don’t.

Remember that choosing a style is not just about being different. Choosing your own type of fashion should be about being comfortable and being confident in wearing your clothes. If you feel embarrassed or awkward wearing something, then that style is probably something you should avoid.

Finding a unique style that is just for you needs a lot of time, a lot of sweat, and probably a lot of misses. But if you have the will and the determination, you can certainly achieve that goal. Coming up with your own fashion style may not be a piece of cake, but it will definitely be worth the effort.

Fashion Style Mistakes to Avoid

Not everyone has a highly-developed fashion style and fashion sense like the great fashion designers. But even great designers make fashion bombs sometimes. Although one cannot always be sure if his or her fashion is perfect or not, there are a few ground rules that one can follow in order to at least give him or her a chance to make a positive fashion statement.

Following trends and fashion fads blindly is something that you should avoid at all costs. While it’s true that it seems everyone around you might be wearing it, you have to be careful that you don’t get pulled into the frenzy if that style of fashion does not suit you. A lot of times, fashion fads don’t last long and when they end, you might find yourself with a heap of clothes that you won’t be able to wear ever again.

Accessorizing is good, but too much of it would be a fashion no-no. It’s only fine to wear ten bracelets and five necklaces and earrings and other bling you can find when you’re six years old and playing dress-up. When you’re grown up, it just looks ridiculous. One can show off whatever jewelries or accessories you have but not all at the same time. Remember there are other parties or social occasions where you can show of your other stuff. Add a little class to your fashion style by going with the “less is more” motto when it comes to accessories.

Don’t buy things just because they are on sale. Similar to following fashion fads blindly, buying just because an item is on sale is just a waste of money. Make sure that when you buy with your hard-earned money, it would be something that you can use and that it will last. Otherwise, sale or not, it’s better to clench your teeth and just walk away.

Wearing clothes that don’t fit you is also a big mistake. First of all, ill-fitting clothes are not very comfortable to wear. And clothes that are too big or too small will do nothing for your figure. It will just make your wardrobe a fashion disaster. Do yourself a favor, if your clothes don’t fit you, give them away. You’ll not only help others, but you’ll also be helping yourself.

In the end, it doesn’t take much brain power to know the right fashion style for you. It’s all about having control over yourself, and knowing the right balance of things. Keep in mind that too much of anything is never good.

Love Quotes Scarves in New Fall Colors

Love Quotes Scarves hit the big time last winter when it was seen slung stylishly around the neck of just about every fashionista in Hollywood. Who exactly wore them? Lindsay Lohan, Lauren Conrad, Hilary Duff, Sienna Miller, Fergie, Cameron Diaz and Jessica Alba are just a few of the starlets who own the scarves in multiple colors. This past summer, Love Quotes launched new tropical inspired colors. But now as cool weather returns it’s time for the brand to usher in a new line of colors, and let me tell you, they’re all fab!

The fall color line up for Love Quotes scarves includes old favorites from last winter. Cobalt blue was seen on Fergie and Lauren Conrad last season. This color in particular is important for the Fall/Winter 08-09 season, so of course Love Quotes is still producing it and it’s expected to be huge. Moonbeam (white) and meditation (black) were spotted on numerous celebrities. And Romance (hot pink) is quite similar to Cosmopolitan which was popular throughout the winter and spring.

Unfortunately, Love Quotes did have to say goodbye to a few colors, including Cocoshell, which was a very pretty shade of beige. Thankfully it’s been replaced by Ale, which is a similar shade of beige. Also joining the ranks is Maritime, a dark navy blue which looks great with red, pink and denim. Deep teal is yet another dark color that’s perfect for the fall. And there’s also charcoal, a dark shade of gray that is a must have, considering gray is a popular color once again this year and it will contrast well with black and white outfits.

My personal favorite Love Quotes scarf this season, aside from Cobalt blue, is Bordeaux. This is a deep shade of crimson which is absolutely gorgeous, and will also look great up against casual black and white outfits as well as jeans. This shade is destined to be a hot one, and I’m sure we’ll see a celebrity or two out and about with it.

Just a warning though, buying Love Quotes scarves is addictive! Once you buy one, you’ll want one in every single color, and why not when they complete just about any outfit. Be sure to pick up at least two new Love Quotes Scarves; one in a classic color and another in a new one.

A New Baby – Breastfeeding and What to Wear

For a few of us, getting pregnant and having a baby means that for the first time ever in your life you may have a cleavage, so while for some of us (me!) there is some excitement in this, for others it can mean that your boobs start to become an entity unto themselves, and what were previously average are now huge. So take this into consideration when dressing.

I remember with my firstborn going out for the first time on my own, I wanted to feel a bit more feminine so I decided to wear a dress. When it was time to go find the parents room to feed the baby, I realized I was definitely going to have to use the private cubicle, as the dress needed to go over my head!

I am now the proud mother of a toddler and a 3 month old baby and am a little more ‘seasoned’ but once again I am confronted with the following:

* Clothes need to be able to be pulled up or down to readily expose a nipple, so dresses or tops with a button down can be handy
* Clothes will be “sicked” on, so everything needs to be easily washed (along with the already huge pile) and a pattern to hide the spill can be helpful too
* I will spend most of the day on my knees changing nappy’s, picking up toys, making bottles, doing the washing, hanging out the washing, folding the washing, feeding everybody (you know how it goes) so these clothes won’t be my most expensive investment pieces
* Clothes need to encompass the jelly belly and overall weight gain – so:

It’s winter and while my legs can’t stand up the scrutiny of bareness in summer, they look great in boots and stockings. Skirts are a great option, particularly in an A line to cover the jelly belly, and make sure the fabric is firm enough to hold everything together too and is machine washable.

Buy a pair of cheaper jeans or pants that are a size or two too big from what you normally wear. I purchased some funky dark purple stretchy cords from K Mart the other day for about $40 that will last me through the next few months and then no guilt about throwing them out when they get too baggy (well I live in hope that they will get baggy).

Look for tops that have the ability to be “ruched” over your tummy area, but are still easy to pull up or down. Cotton On have some excellent options of washable fun tops that probably won’t last the distance as investment pieces, but will provide a bit of freshness to your wardrobe.

Now is not the time to accessorize heavily, leave the long necklaces in the drawer they will only get in the way. Go instead for small funky earrings if you want to add some interest and even better are scarves as they are soft and can easily be chucked on or off as need be and teamed up with a good hat can draw attention away from the fact you have your boobs out!

So you didn’t think you would be wearing evening wear so soon after the birth? Think again, I regularly stay in my evening clothes until lunch time…I find that pajamas are a very practical option for breastfeeding!

Four Easy Steps to Your Healthiest Possible Hair

After having been in the beauty industry for twenty years now, first a stylist and now salon owner, I’ve learned a some great basics to having healthy, shiny beautiful hair. It is true that a great piece of having great hair is genetic. That’s not to say that you can’t improve upon what you have. By following the quick tips below, I can confidently guarantee you improved luster, health and body if practiced consistently.

About four years ago, I opened my salon and wanted to really hone in on getting hair as healthy as possible with all of our service offerings. So that’s our point of difference at Byu-ti (pronounced beauty), we specialize in services, products and even have a custom-blended healthy hair system of treatments for our guests that we perform in-house much like a facial for the hair. All that said, you can absolutely take the health of your hair into your own hands and take a few simple actions to improve the quality of your God-given goods.

1. Eat a healthy diet – Yes, we hear this over and over again but there is real truth to it when it comes to your hair and here’s why. Those little glands attached to your follicle (the root in your scalp that your hair grows out of) produce a slippery, oil-like substance called sebum. They’re purpose it to lubricate our hair and skin to keep it supple. Sebum is comprised of fatty acids, cholesterol and triglycerides, which, come from you and the nutrients in your body. And just where do the nutrients in your body come from? You got it, the foods we eat. I have a real simple rule for keeping in great health. You’ve all heard of Super Foods, right? Super foods are basically foods that contain unusually high levels of two or more nutrients. Here are few examples: salmon, soy, quinoa, walnuts, blueberries, acai, broccoli, oats, and green tea. By adding two a day to your diet, you can ensure protection against disease, premature aging and diminished health. And of course, it will keep your skin and hair glowing with vital health from all the deposits of nutrients into your sebum.

2. Shampoo Less – Yes, I know this is a tough one for many. And for those of you that fought it for a long time and finally gave in, tell the rest of the folks reading this how it has really helped your hair. I’ve had many a client resist this one, only to thank me later and kick themselves for taking so long to make the shift. After reading the previous tip, you can see the benefits to allowing those yummy sebaceous deposits to sit on your hair just a little longer. They will hydrate, nourish and keep your hair supple and healthy. I’m sure you’ve heard of a hot oil treatment. Well, allowing the natural sebum from your scalp to penetrate the hair shaft, you are giving yourself a hot oil treatment on a daily basis!

Another great reason to shampoo less, especially for all of you that have fine hair or an oily scalp, is that as we wash away the sebum, sending the sebaceous glands into a state of panic to produce more. You got it, so they overwork themselves to make up for the shampoo that you just used. Thus, perpetuating the very problem! When first making the shift to shampooing less, I always suggest allowing a two-week window for the glands to slow down and get balanced out again. Also, cut back on caffeine if the oils seem to keep on overdrive. After you two-weeks, you should be in good shape to shampoo every other day to every third day depending on the thickness of your hair. Finer hair more often, thicker hair less often.

3. Keep regular hair appointments – Yes, I’m a stylist and salon owner and could benefit from you coming in to my place of business more frequently but that is not at all where I’m coming from on this one. It’s very simple; your hair grows about a ½ inch a month. If your hair is in good health and you want to maintain the look you have, come in every 4 – 6 weeks for a trim. Take off the ½ inch that is new growth. If you are growing it, come in every 6 – 8 weeks and we’ll take off a ¼ – 1/8 of your ends to keep them blunt and strong. Just imagine wearing the same blouse every day for two years (the average life span of a piece of hair). Now, wash it a few times a week and sleep in it and put metal clips on it and rubber bands. What would happen to your blouse? It’d get pretty beat up, right? It always amazes me when I have a client that I see every 4 – 6 months and she wants to grow her hair and asks me to take off just a ½ inch. I internally role my eyes and have this conversation with them:

You really need about two inches cut off because of the ends that are splitting and breaking. I know you want to grow your hair but the ends will not grow down because they are splitting up so your hair will actually stay where it is or get shorter with time.

Now if she would have just come in on a six-week cycle, her hair would be looking great and have actually grown a whole bunch. Make sense. See? We’re telling the truth when we ask you to book before you go or come back in six-weeks.

4. Masque once a week – We’ve already been through the shampooing aspect and one thing I neglected to mention was to condition with every wash. So, every time you wash your hair, use conditioner. If you have an oily scalp, just apply it to the mid-shaft to ends. I’d like to add one more product to your routine. It’s called a hair masque or reparative masque or whatever your specific brand chooses to call it. The difference between a masque and your conditioner is like regular food compared to super foods. It’s packed with extra nutrients and often has a thicker, heavier consistency. It is definitely a trend in hair care lines these days but don’t worry, it’s here to stay because it works. I really like the balancing effect that using a daily conditioner (which embodies a certain group of nutrients) and a once a week masque (which has a whole different grouping of nutrients) has on the hair. It’s like your feeding your hair a variety of vitamins so it’s never getting used to any one set of ingredients. We’ve all had that happen right? We’re using our favorite conditioner for a while and then, it just seems to stop working. The reason is that your hair is full on those nutrients and needs new ones. But once you switch to the new product, the same thing happens over time. So, ask your stylist to recommend the right product for your hair’s needs.

That get’s all the basics taken care of and really, all self-care does boil down to basics practiced over long periods of time. Make a religion about the above four steps and your hair will be shiny, healthy and beautiful just as you knew it always could be.

Fashion Styling Courses

There are various fashion styling courses that are offered to future stylists who want to pursue a career in the fashion industry. These courses provide candidates with in-depth knowledge on various subjects that may include nail care, hair care, hair styling, personal care, wardrobe selection and garment selection.

Budding stylists who are interested in pursuing a career in the fashion industry can either opt for a 2 year Associate Degree Course in Fashion Designing or they can opt for a 4 year Associate Degree Course in Fashion Designing. Both these courses help future stylists understand various aspects of personal styling and also understand how the industry works. In addition to getting knowledge about the chosen path, these courses also teach the future stylist various other things such as how to develop contacts and how to keep clients happy.

Since there are many reputed training institutes that offer fashion styling courses, future stylists should consider various aspects before joining an institute. Some of the aspects that should be considered include the quality of training, internship, placement and future job opportunities. Aspiring stylists who are interested in getting job experience should look for fashion styling courses that also offer internship programs since these programs allow stylists to get hands on experience. The main benefit of an internship program is that most places that offer internship programs allow candidates to make a few unintentional mistakes as part of the learning procedure. These inevitable mistakes often prevent future stylists from making similar mistakes in the future.

The two types of fashion styling courses that are offered to future stylists who want to become personal stylists are virtual courses and face to face courses. Face to face courses are usually preferred by most people who have access to institutes that offer these courses since such seminars allow candidates to get hands on experience and practice while learning.

Although face to face courses have various benefits, many people opt for virtual courses for various reasons. Virtual courses are ideal for people who do not have enough time to attend face to face courses or live in a location that is far away from institutes that offer face to face courses. Some fashion styling institutes also offer blended seminars that allow candidates to enter both face to face seminars and virtual seminars. Blended seminars are considered to be ideal for future stylists who want to get both hands on experience and want to save time while learning the art of styling.

What Will Be the Fashion Style Shoes in 2010 Spring and Summer?

‘The fashion depends on the mood of the people,’ the director of the famous Italy brand Valentino answered in a interview.

Globally, the design style and fashion trends of clothes and shoes are closely related to the fashion capital French and Italy which are the representative of world fashion and culture. But the fashion culture derived from the people’s unconscious psychic reflection about the world. After 911, the cool colors become the fashionable in the world. Moreover, the style became dignified. And the black color of clothes and shoes become popular in America just from then on. In the 1980s when China was just carrying out the policy of reforms and open-up, the flared trousers were very popular in China. All of these could reflect that the fashion and culture is the mirror of people’s mental attitude. Besides, the economic situation of the district and the local consumption habits will also affect the fashion trends of apparel and footwear.

After the Iraq, the international political situation became stable. And the world economy developed more smoothly. So the people may be in good mood again, and will pay more attention to the quality of life and to enjoy life. Therefore, the avant-garde, bold and enthusiastic styles became very popular since 2005. The warm color has been popular these years, such pink, light green etc. As for the material, mainly are delicate silk, cotton textiles. The fashion colors of women’s shoes and clothes form a perfect match. Beige and light yellow will become the popular color for 2010 spring and summer sandals. The pointed-toe boxlouboutin shoes will be popular. As for the styles, the stiletto heels and the flat shoes will be the fashion styles at the same time! Just to meet the consumer’s different needs of both fashionable and comfortable. And the material of shoes is mainly calfskin with rubber soles. And the Crystal-heels will begin to carry on this summer.

In fact, popular and fashion style maybe not the best for you. In other words, if you walk in the street, seeing everyone wear the same style red sole shoes, do you think that will be beautiful? So in my opinion, the popular and fashion trend could just be used as a reference. Just remember that the fashion and hot style shoes and clothes might not be suitable for you. But the ones suitable for you will always be popular, just to my mind!

Different Fashions – Alternative Fashion Styles

Clothing was always, ever since man started wrapping himself in various animal fur, a statement of a certain kind. Fashion, as a style popularized and excepted by many in modern day, just deepened that statement’s importance. Choosing one style or another gave people in all cultures a way of expressing themselves, and as there was always a fashion followed by majority of society, there was another, somewhere in the back of it, denying and rejecting it.

Alternative fashion styles are tightly close to music genres of what is also labeled as “alternative”, such as rock and roll, punk, gothic, hardcore, and all varieties that rose up from those. Many social and cultural issues are brought up by associating a subculture with a type of music and a way of clothing, such as denying status quo of classes, governmental policies, distribution of power, and identity policy which majority popularized. Identity, in fact, is the most important aspect of alternative fashion and as an embodiment of it, it produced a variety of styles, to show the same variety of opinion, discontent, or rejecting the traditional values which are always transformed in shape but steady in structure in the mainstream fashion.

Reimagining one’s own identity is a process that is followed by changes in personal appearance and usually approaching values of a subculture which offers to individual a better view of society. Those values are mirrored in music, clothes and accessories. Influenced by vintage and retro fashion, dress styles, forms of visual and performance art, personal attitudes towards concepts such as individuality, consumerism, social constructs on behavior, and considerations of availability and utilitarianism, rock and roll and punk had a very strong ground to stand on when social criticizm through clothing became unseparable part of the genres.

Since the 50s and 70s which were the turning point years, rock and roll and punk styles got multiplied by many, and brought us gothic, cyber gothic (and other varieties of gothic fashion which is still one of the strongest alternative movements in creation of new gender roles and identities and social boundaries), industrial (strongly influenced by military uniforms), Beatniks, Metal, Heavy Metal, Glam Metal (and many subgenres of metal music which has their own set of clothing styles), Hippie, Riot grrrl, Lolita, Mod, Ero kawaii (and many, many, many Japanese influenced styles with a strong influence on Western fashion, alternative and mainstream, such as Elegant Gothic Aristocrat), and many more. Individuality is an important part of alternative fashion, but there are always patterns (otherwise we would not call it a fashion), and even punk fashion, as an extreme form of rejecting social system through hairstyle, piercings, ripped clothes etc has a certain structure which can except anyone who wants to join it.

As styles change, and we are going further in time from the origins of musical genres which brought us new fashion(s), it is apparent that they are still here, regardless of gender, class, age or culture, transforming and giving people a stronger voice to say “We are different, and we want more”.

Finding Your Own Fashion Style

In a world extraordinarily focused on outward appearance, we need only to open a magazine or turn on our televisions to see the latest and greatest fashion trend; it walks the red carpet, checks out a movie premier, and heads out nightly to the hottest restaurants. And we, as a society always mindful of what’s popular, follows dutifully along, eager to purchase the “must have” item of the season. But, ultimately, the fashion style that works best for us is that which looks good on our particular body and reflects our very individual personality.

As anyone who follows the fashion industry will tell you, trends come and go. What is one year’s hot item is the next season’s fashion “don’t.” Designers present their newest lines and before you know it stores are carrying these clothes in every conceivable variation. And then, just as quickly, they’re gone. It’s almost impossible to keep pace. Luckily, the fashion style that makes the most sense on an individual level is the fashion style that reflects who we are as people; and that never goes out of style.

The most important thing to remember is that just because a particular fashion style is popular at the moment does not mean that it will look good on your particular body. Wearing something just for the sake of wearing it ultimately goes against the principles of fashion. A fashion style that you choose to wear should be something that accentuates your positives, downplays your negatives, and complements the overall line of your body.

Take the time to get to know your body and what styles work best with it. Assess your body objectively; if you have trouble spots, look for cuts and fabrics that camouflage what you need them to camouflage; if you are on the shorter side, look for a fashion style that elongates your body; and always choose colors that complement your skin tone.

Once you find a style that works – stick with it and add your personal touches to reflect your personality; that is the best fashion style you can possibly wear.
